PSA: Beware of Job Applicant Scammers Posing as Crown Packaging Employees
Recently we were alerted that a number of people were solicited and offered jobs by an individual fraudulently claiming to be associated with our company.
In these solicitations, the individual used email addresses that were similar to ours (see the below list) along with other company details (including our legal business name, logo, and address) to try to fool job applicants into thinking they were communicating with a legitimate Crown Packaging employee.
The intent of this scam is likely to convince job candidates to provide personal identifiers, bank information, and money to the scammer after accepting the job offer.
Here are the email address domains we’ve identified that have been used in this scam to date:
- crownpackcareers.com
- crownpackcareers.net
If you’ve received communications from these email addresses, please be advised that the senders are not associated with Crown Packaging Corp. or our affiliates. Do not share sensitive information with them.
If you’ve received suspicious communication from someone posing as a Crown Packaging employee using another email than our standard format (ending with crownpack.com), please let us know so we can flag it as a potential scam threat.
